Woolbath: warming, healing & relaxing

In the past, the peasant population used the wool of Texel sheep to get through the cold winters or to warm their muscles and joints after a day of hard work in the fields. Today the benefit of wool goes beyond heat alone: it also provides a sense of security and tranquility and the lanoline oil has a healing effect on the skin. Of course, only wool from 'De Texelaar,' a unique, globally- known breed of sheep which is famous for its meat and good-quality wool is used. The salty sea air creates a special texture, resulting in oily and high-quality wool. Let yourself be pleasantly surprised by the natural benefits of being wrapped in sheep's wool.

Warming

Sheep wool is insulating. During the woolness treatment your body temperature rises and the heat relaxes your muscles and joints. Thanks to these benefits, the woolbath can offer relief for those with rheumatism, joint pain or osteoarthritis.

Healing

Sheep wool contains lanoline. This pure wool oil stimulates the skin’s ability to heal. During the wool bath a layer of wool oil remains on the skin, making it soft and supple.

Relaxing

The specially- designed cradle, in which the woolbath is given, contributes to a feeling of rustic comfort and relaxation.

Unique woolness Texel-style

Wool specialist:
“In the cozy wool tub, you can leave your busy life behind and surrender to the nourishment of soft Texel sheep’s wool. Once you are completely wrapped in the wool, you will settle into a cradle. Then your hands and feet are immersed in natural wool grease, and you are tucked in under a sheep’s wool blanket. While the wool and the cream work their magic, you dream away and escape the hectic pace of your daily life. A wool bath is a blessing for both the body and the mind. After about twenty minutes, we will bring you a cup of tea or coffee for you to quietly enjoy while still in the cradle.”
