SOMMELTJESPAD
According to legends, Sommeltjes (little earth spirits) live on Texel. They were most often seen near De Waal. There was an old burial mound where the Sommeltjes danced by moonlight. When a Sommeltje comes into the sun, it turns into a stone. When it gets dark, it comes back to life. Along this 1.5 km route through the woods, children search for the Sommeltjes (stone figures), ‘animals’ that live on Texel, and other fun things.
